Apologies if my positivity bores any of you but I thought I would ask how all of YOU see City nowadays.

(I remember the split when I posted about City being at a Tipping Point for example)

There are many on here who believe, like I do that there is almost nothing that City cannot achieve, both on and off the field.

There are of course the nay sayers and doubters, and the 'ickle cityers' as mentioned by Tolmie today.

I personally believe that City could get ANY player they wanted (money talks of course) but that they are holding back for now, and not necessarily hitting all the players that they might get say two years hence.

But I also have faith in the people running the club about the motives and methods they use to achieve the goals they have set.

Now belief cannot be proven as it is BELIEF but I do BELIEVE in City as the very biggest of clubs in the world.

But what do you BELIEVE?

100% agree with you fbloke. But been a City fan way too long and also believe that the crushing disappointment that goes hand in hand with being blue will likely kick us in the nuts again at some point - even if it is in 20 years after we've dominated the world and my son has just scored the winner in the champs league final. BUT i also know i'll still be blue. We're really fortunate to have owners who's ambition is matched by their resources

For most City fans the journey is much more fun than the destination so win lose or draw regardless of the players, managers and owners CTID

but looking forward to world domination by this time next year!

It' s not a question of IF, merely when. You only have to look at Abu Dhabi sites to see that City are front-page news over there. The owners are pushing us up the agenda with official tours, megastores, TV coverage all on the agenda so they are clearly here for the long term.

And if that's the case, then this year or next, with or without Bobby (hopefully with), we're going to win it all.

I think you overstate the case somewhat fb...

I agree that we're well on course for world domination in the next five years, and I actually believe even with no more additions this summer we'd be mounting a serious title challenge next season.

However, I don't for one moment believe we're in a position yet where we can attract ANY player we want to City. Money does talk, but so do many other factors when it comes to footballers. There is still a step up we need to take before we can realistically talk about signing the cream of the crop.

If you look at the top drawer players we have signed, it's been as much about their personal circumstances at their previous clubs, as it has been about anything else. Toure, Silva, Tevez, Ade, et al were all unsettled for whatever reason.

The Schweinsteiger link is an interesting one. If we pull that signing off, I may re-evaluate just how far our reach is this summer...

Whilst working a train last week i got talking to a blue who's 2 year old son was weaing the old purple city kit. We both agreed how lucky his son will be as he'll grow up seeing City dominating europe as well as England. Both myself and his dad have seen so many dissapointments but i'm positive that typical city is dying to be replaced by Impossible city doing stuff we never thought imaginable 10 years ago.

I agree with you to some extent, but if we had less sensible owners who were as they are sometimes portrayed in the media then we would be paying £1m or £2m a week net for Messi.

That isn't going to happen, thankfully, but the nay sayers (not you of course billy ;-)) simply say we wont/cant get players BECAUSE we are City!

That seems to be the other end of the scale.
