Staying on the 'no word of a lie' theme; many years ago, I spent a full day at work sporting a cravat and monocle and used a swagger stick to point at things that needed doing. I later told people it was for a bet, but it wasn't for a bet or charity... I was genuinely going off my nut at the time.

Was a librarian, then a landscape gardener.

Following 2 years' more college just landed finance for a new business as an Ecological Design Consultant, helping schools and community groups set up organic growing schemes. So basically an organic gardener who does school assemblies, presentations and festivals. Doesn't pay much, but it's great work. We're currently building a forest garden at a local primary. We're also qualified bee keepers.
