Players living off last year's glory, lack of fight and will to win, poor fitness levels, lack of real leadership on the pitch, defensive balance and organisation not established, complacency against so called "lesser" opposition, loss of our best player Silva through injury, squad depth and quality not there so injuries and suspensions costing us dear, poor tactical formations, poor choice of substitutions, 75% of the squad simply not delivering viz: Caballero, Sagna, Zabaleta, Mangala, Dimichelis, Clichy, Kolorov, Jovetic, Dzeko, Navas, Nasri, Toure, Fernando and Fernandinho.

The number of misplaced passes last night was frankly embarrassing, continually turning over possession inside our final third. Had that been against Madrid or Bayern we'd have been on the end of a 0-6 or 0-7. I honestly think Pellegrini is just expecting things to sort themselves out naturally. Surely he must realise that changes to systems and personnel and the way we approach games (1-0 away wins are not to be sniffed at IMO) is well overdue ?

I tend to agree, I think thats why he plays 2 up top, with Silva's inspiration he's banking on one of them scoring.

Severe case of second season syndrome again! Nothing to prove from a personal point of view. No one taking responsibility. No one willing to come up with a solution and applying it. Its not the tactics or system. Its the players sheer unmotivated attitudes because they believe they are better than they actually are. This team went to Munich and only just got beat. Really unlucky to lose. The same players beat united a few days ago. Drew with Chelsea. Won the double ffs. Same players same manager same system. Scored record number of goals. Broke all sorts of records last year with the same personnel. The players have form for this. They have done this very same thing before. Attitude is completely wrong. Imo.

Using the same tactics over and over again, an ever-changing back four, the inability to deal with rapid counter-attacks despite it happening on a regular basis.
When playing out from the back, more often than not the ball ends up with YT, that used to be a good thing, he has vision and accuracy, trouble is, his potential targets are known to the opposition and closely marked. Thus the slow, short 5 yard sideways dance begins until the ball is lost, a simple forward pass and another counter-attack begins. Occasionally, a flash of brilliance from Silva or Aguero, even more occasionally from the big man himself results in a goal. Our tactics have not evolved, opposition tactics have. The players show no sign of being better, in some cases quite the opposite. When our m.o. is so rigid it makes everyone's job so much harder, forcing errors. Psychologically the team look bewildered.
What happens next? If the early part of the season is a guide, nothing. MP seems incapable of change. He will live or die by 4-4-2.

Simply put, we've been figured out again. Not only that, but I find the attitudes of certain players in the squad aren't what they should be. Lashing out at the CSKA players like Nasri and Toure did is unacceptable, and their lacklustre attitudes showed. I watch matches and I see guys like Navas failing to use his pace to get into the box and get balls into the box, Toure just putting 20% effort into everything, Clichy just being awful, and many more reasons.

Ultimately, the players need to sort themselves out before we think about anything like new managers etc.
