So what time did everyone get home and more.......

Went down on my own and just before kick off a guy come into our row looking for his seat. I check his ticket and tell him that he next to me, I then look at him proper and realise that he is someone who I used to play footy with , not seen him for 15 years .He moved to Bournemouth from Audenshaw .As we were both keepers we said thats it its in the stars Willy will be our hero today
Your probably on about Mark Hayes. Had a pint with him before the game. He used to play in the net for the team I played in. Day after we beat United 3-1 at Maine Road, he was still smashed playing in net for us, I was centre half and turned round to see Hayes had disappeared from goals, he was having a p*** behind a bush whilst the other team were on the attack. After the match he knocked on some random couples house to use the shower which they let him do, she come outside laughing her t**s off saying to us I hope his Goalkeeping is better than his singing. Great lad

It was the perfect day, it really was. On a fantastic coach that left central Manchester at 7:30am, it stopped to take bacon butties onboard at Bucklow Hill. We breezed down in the morning, no traffic, got parked up on the Wembley car park at 12:30pm. Most of us ended up in The Blue Check bar for a few hours. Got to the ground an hour or so before kick off, fantastic seats on front row of top tier. Stayed until presentation finished, when we got back to the coach it had been moved a few spaces forward to the front of the queue, so as soon as everyone found it, we were on our way - no sitting in the coach park for hours. Food and cold beer was passed round on the coach and we watched the CH5 highlights on the coach's Sky System at 8pm. No real hold ups on the way back and got back to central Manc at 12:15 after stopping for 15mins so that the drivers could change over. It couldn't have gone better.

Which coach firm mate? we ended up on a thomson coach (number 4) no ale or nothing !

We were booked on the 8.35pm train home from Euston to Piccadilly so was always going to be a worry if it went to ET and pens, but I took on board what you said the other week about buying match tickets located close to a gangway in the lower tier and on the side of our area of the ground closest to Wembley Way - I didn't really want to spend £72 on a ticket but it became a bit of necessity because of the train situation and we ended up with some great seats in 107. Watched Kompany lift the cup then dived out and legged it all the way down Wembley Way past thousands of Liverpool fans which meant we were near the front of the queue for the tube and only had to wait about 5 minutes to get on it. Pissed it in the end as we were back at Euston for about 8pm so even had time for a couple of quick pints in the Bree Louise! Got back to Piccadilly for about 11.30pm.

Glad to have been of service! Pity I didn't practice what I preached...

Back in the house by 1230 after a well organised queue to Wembley Park tube entertained by a whole of songs from the fans. Even Adam Johnson got a dishonourable mention.

Good getaway from Wealdstone FC but too much off a fight to get served before the match.

Slept well of course

PS and we were shown on Sky during the pens!

that Adam Johnson song was well nippy
anyway we got into Kings Cross about 8.45pm and headed straight to Dishoom for a Ruby

I got home at 2am (Glossop)was absolutely fucked but well worth it, I did stop a couple of times to be fair the old mans bladder ain't what it was, the most annoying parts were getting out of that fucking wembley shithole car park, took just over an hour the stewards were absolutely useless they didn't bother with lining the cars they just let everyone pile to the gate and fight it out.. And really wished I used the A1 instead of the M1 the pigs were out in force, setting them fucking ridiculous 40-50-60mph speed zones all the way to nottingham, every time the traffic started spreading out up one popped and everyone was bunched back together. bullshit if they say its for safety reasons

The M6 / M40 route was great. Not a single hold up either way

The only delay was trying to get into Wembley Park after the game, so it was 9pm by the time we got back to the car at Ruislip Manor

I was once woken at Kings Cross on the overnight train from Newcastle and told the porter who woke me that 'We are the Champions'. Both knees in my trousers ripped and so was one elbow sleeve.

City were so crap last night I am having to rely on memories of 68 to cheer me up.
