Some City Opta stats for 2010/11

There is this fallacy that Dzeko can only thrive with 2 wingers supplying crosses. That wasn't the case at Wolfsburg and it won't be here. Put the ball in the right area from any position, and he will score goals.
Yep, take a look at his goals, most weren't from crosses (a third were), but the rest from fast build up play and very good service.

Not to mention too, at Wolfsburg, he was the man and his confidence was through the roof.

Kind of like for his national team which he scored the other day for.

Crosses are supposed to come primarily from overlapping fullbacks. Case in point Boyatta's overlap for a cross that Barry smashed into the cross bar. That is how you get crosses in.

If City really were interested in getting better, we'd be driven by the stats and not emotion. You want to improve in areas where City is weak? Look to the fullbacks. Bring in Wiel and Baines and our crosses will tripple over a season, and the completion percentage will probably double with ease.

Now that is not gonna happen coz we love Micah and Zaba and we just spent big on Kolarov.

Want to improve quik counters. Move Toure to DM where his passing and speed can aid the fast break. Push SIlva to the AM, bring in Bale on the left and Aguero on the right of the of the attacking mid. And now you have 4 very good passers, one visionary and 2 speed demons. Drop Dzeko or Balotelli up fron and suddenly goals are plenty! Bu gelling will take time again. We might take a step back before 2 forward, but that is what is needed.
