some smart-phone advice please

I have a galaxy s2, quite easy to use and understand . i am 47 so nearly at me half century. I am not a gamer really but there is some really good stuff for free or cheap on android. i love this phone.

I have a HTC Desire and would recommend its user-friendly interface, free Android apps which are easy to find and download, fast internet connection and wide variety of system installed programmes which are all you need to be getting along with whilst getting used to handling the phone.

It also has its own touch QWERTY keyboard, which is handy!

A 5O year old, wheelchair reliant, blue, I have finally been persuaded to enter the 21st century and buy my very first smart phone in time for Christmas

Trouble is there's so much choice out there that I'm at a loss at which kind to get. I've heard that the iphone can be pretty temperamental when it comes to inter-acting (ie sending pics, vids etc) with other brands of smart phone, so was wondering if, an android phone or blackberry would be a better bet in that regard..

I would be grateful, to fellow blues, for any help and impartial advice on the matter

cheers

If you are with Virgin media you can get a Samsung Galaxy S II on a 24 month contract- £22 a month with 300 mins, 3000 texts and 1Gb allowance.£27 a month gives you 1300 mins! Just ring and ask ;-)

I'd recommend HTC , i have a Desire HD and no one beats 3 for mins, tx and data.

3 are a pile of shite, worst network ever.
I've recently joined 3 having been ripped off for years on o2 and it's a breath of fresh air and network is actually better in my area to be fair.

Mate the samsung galaxy s II. I am posting on it now. It is the dogs bollox. You would not be dissapointed!
^^^ This! I have one too - Voted Best Smartphone 2011 - up yours iPhlop!

.I took TCIB and Glen's advice, a few days ago, & checked out the Samsung S2

I would've loved it, 'cos, as they said, it was definitely 'The dogs bollox.'

Unfortunately, I found the retail price of approximately £400 (as listed on Amazon) was a bit beyond my budget.... A retail price of around £200 is about my limit I'm afraid - Which probably means it's a straight choice between the HTC Wildfre S, and the Samsung Galaxy Ace, So I would greatly value the opinion of anyone currently using either model before purchasing. (Must be wifi enabled, equipped with android, and have a large-ish screen & video camera if possible.)

I know I could get the phone free if I was prepared to tie myself to long term term contract with one or other of the various companies, but for personal reasons I would prefer to buy the phone separately and go down the no strings pay as you go route.

Cheers,

This maybe of some help to you.

They've probably got other reviews.

The samsung i mentioned has all that and it's £150 on PAYG in phones 4 u.
I'd give it a few more weeks til the xmas deals come out before buying anything as a better deal may be available.
