Straight swap for Dzeko??
Doesn't work. The first real look at Messi I got was when we played Barcelona in 2006. This was us under Mourinho, with the fiercest defence in the world by far; with a game based on physically dominating the park and bullying the opposition. He had the likes of Makelele, Terry, Gallas, Carvalho and Essien kicking lumps out of him for 90 minutes and it couldn't stop him (though I maintain that he acted to get Del Horno sent off).sir peace frog said:if we played barcelona(barca makes me spew like saying man u )
i would want nigel de jong to send messi 20 foot into the air and then lescott to trample the fucker into the ground,he might be great but i would want him broken.
there is no doubt he is a great player, but the wank fest over him is sickening, you cant watch the match without some pundit saying homoerotic stuff about someone who can kick a ball well, now david silva is a different animal he can play and is worth a wnkfest.
:)

And someone saying he is "product of his midfield" - well that's the stupidest fucking thing I've heard in a long time. By that logic Aguero is utter shit, but he is scoring because of Silva/Yaya/Nasri midfield...by that logic you can dismiss pretty much any attacking player in the world.
Some people are just clueless.
This Messi for Argentina thing is a myth.Silvex said:Look at national team goals :l. Messi = shit withought Barca's midfield.

Well first off, out of those 150 games, which teams posed a real rock solid defense? Against the best possession/midfield team ever? I mean come on after Real and Barca La Liga is filled with shit teams, whose only goal each year is a champions league spot. Of course he's going to score that much! Against shit teams that is! I guess you can count champions league games out of those 150 games, but even then how much goals is that? about 20-30, I don't know for sure. Assists are good too. About 10 assists for the CL games, probably more. Alright those were some neat tricks on the video, but what about the goals? Most strikers are known for the goals they are able to put in the back of the net.
67 apprences - 22 Goals (according to wiki) Doesn't say anything about assists
67 is nearly half of the 150 games. 22 goals is not even close to half of 148.
See what I'm saying? Product of the midfield nothing more, nothing less, in terms of the goals though! He's still pretty good probably top 10 players at this moment in time. He has a great dribble and great vision, but best ever, not good enough imo.
