Something is wrong that we dont know about..

Yes.

There is an underworld sense about the club. It's a struggle to perserve your soul.

Against the erosion of fame and money.

And you cannot always win.

G Star,some very valid points.

Some players get aggressive pre game, some go into a coma like state of concentration, some become veritable jokers and really relax. All work in their own merits.

Also from the OS videos etc it looks like they all really get on and enjoy being here,Robbie's goodbye video being a classic example.

I agree that 90 mins is not enough to judge this accurately(I'd actually love to go in an investigate this for 2 weeks or so),but next game just watch the players faces and body language for the 15 mins or so before the game.

They look like they are lost in thought, second guessing themselves.

Look in their eyes, the spark is missing.

Balti this isnt Mancini or Hughes.I am wondering

are they getting too much information pre game

or

are they too distracted by other stuff pre game, meet n greets, media etc.

Something, other than football is not right.

We are all guessing mate and my guess is that it's just old fashioned complacency.

i don't know about anyone else and i know i am not on my own but i did not think we would get a result yesterday and feel pretty much like that about all our away games

now if i as a fan am feeling like that, are the players of the same mind set, when was the last time we went out away from home and really set the tempo and controlled the match i can't think of one even when we won convincingly at wolves we rode our luck for the 1st 20 mins

For me........ To many changes in the team, as in players are not sure how long they will be at City. Insecurity as too many players have been sold, benched or substituted and loaned out. "A bunch of individuals and was noticeable at times last season"

Who is responsible, I don't know, but we will win nothing without team spirit, passion, or players feeling that they are part of CITY. Most of the top teams have a squad built "with money" over a long period of time. We have brought in far to many players over a very short time.

I would agree with you there,I think Superman overtrained, dragged out his season too long and is mentally drained.I seen a whole american football team do this in 2002,started training 3 months prior to competition, had a vastly talented squad and went from 7-1 in 2001 to 1-7 in 2002 simply because by the time the season started they'd already given too much.Same could be said for Stevie.

Problem is it's not just Stevie.

I wonder are the lads being bombarded with complex tactics thus taking away the natural instict to play, making them second guess themselves and constantly look like they are about to sit a test they havent studied for?

I wasnt a Sven fan but Sven would have had the squad mentality addressed by now.

At time things don't look, for want of a better word, natural they seem to be looking for a pass or run. Thinking about what to do rather than just reacting more like they are trying to work to script .

I think the sport psychologist thing is a good point. How can we be so different away from home!

What are you talking about getting some psychologists into coms? Then what..Lawyers, shrinks??? Hell we already have too much of that rubbish with these sports Scientists etc. No, the only thing these over paid, pre maddona spoilt brats need is a good old fashioned kick up the pants. And the sooner the better.

I agree to a certain extent, but to label Sport Science and Sport Psychology as 'that rubbish' is ignorant of what they do.

Well I will admit I am ignorant to all that science stuff, but I still hold firm on the kick up the panse bit.
