Off the top of my head, I can only think of a few pop/rocks songs which are about Manchester and areas in the city.
Rusholme Ruffians by The Smiths, Longsight M13 by Ian Brown and Bombs Away on Harpurhey by 80s indie act King of the Slums (anyone remember them?)
The Stone Roses song Daybreak includes the line "From Atlanta, Georgia, to Longsight, Manchester"
I can remember at school being taught a folk song called The Manchester Rambler, which I think was something to do with the Kinder trespass.
Anyone know of any more?

Same goes for Stockport and Hulme
We doing alright
Just post-house blues
Cos this is northenden in the afternoon

The kids are deranged
They love guns and kidnap
Thats just the way we do things here
The day dies down
Not a moment too soon
Under the northenden afternoon

Northenden afternoon

Is that M16 productions thing real? I think they might be taking the piss out of Ali G. What a set of gimps, they realy need to sort out who they are.

This was made off one fone and ended up getting a few people in trouble lol. Was a reply to the croxteth vid.

Quality! I like Doves, but must say I've never heard that track. A B-side?

apparently the "Moo Moo land" lyric referred to the M.U. (Rag) graffiti all over the place, back in the day.

The Ewan Mccoll song was dirty old town, did you meen that one as his best one?

the other song got shoved on the same reply by the system and admitedly has nothing to do with Ewan McColl, all though I would of loved to of heard his take on it!!!
