I remember seeing these songs on top of the pops at the time, I was only 6 but that was the first bit of music that I could remember giving me butterflies.
I started listening to music through 'uncle mac' on the radio in the early 60's. My fave top 10 were:
Puff the magic dragon
4 wheels on my wagon
The runaway train
Nellie the Elephant
Champion the Wonderhorse
Goodness Gracious me
I taut I saw a puddy tat
I know an old lady (down wayne)
Big rock candy mountain
The Ugly Duckling
I was six.
Fast forward 10 years:
Walk on the Wild Side - Lou Reed
Immigrant Song - LZ
The Musical Box - Genesis
Heart of the sunrise - Yes
Width of a circle - David Bowie
Tales of Brave Ulysses - Cream
Goodbye Yellow brick road - Elton
knocking on heavens door - Dylan
Locomotive Breath - Jethro Tull
Money - Pink Floyd
I know which list I could still listen to now.[/QUOTE
