The guitarist "Junior" Campbell on the left went on to make a fortune because he co wrote the music to "Thomas the tank engine"

If we arw talking around the age of 13 I was listening to likes of

Village green preservation society - kinks (plus all their other stuff)
Tin soldier - small faces
Ghost town - specials
Going underground - The Jam
Frankly mister shankley - smiths
Prince buster - madness
Pressure drop - toots and the maytals
Elephant stone - stone roses
I don't go out with her anymore..but - the man from delmonte.
Scarecrow - james

And many more I could mention

This thread just shows that we still have a hard core of old gits/FOCs amongst our support. Myself included.
Taking me right back to my youf.

When I was a kid we had new neighbours move in next door. At the time I was listening to Slade, Sweet, the Osmonds and all the rest of that crap.
The new neighbour caught wind of this and was having none of it. He gave me Humble pie - Rocking the Fillmore and Deep Purple - Made in Japan.
I bought Alice Copper - Schools out and Wings - Band on the run.
Then came punk.
Nothing wrong with Slade and Sweet, did some great songs, there were stories that Blackmore tried to get Brian Connoly for Deep Purple.

I think some folk are trying to be a bit too cool for school on this thread.

People listened to all sorts of shite when they were younger as well as some brilliant stuff, mainly whatever was on the radio or TOTP.

Slade was up there with the best.

Love one of the comments on YouTube: 'Who was the Arab woman in the middle?'
