songs recorded by City

There was one once, given away, that was a floppy blue plastic. Not sure if it was from a magazine or fanzine.
Blue Moon the 5-1 remix
Given away with Blue Print (black floppy disc)
Our normal circulation was 2000 copies and we shifted 4000 of that one!
John Peel played it on Radio 1.
It was City fans recorded at Millwall away singing Blue Moon interspersed with commentary of the 5-1 and also the following seasons 3-3 derby and mixed by Adrian Sherwood's On U Sound. My copy is still mint, attached to the fanzine

Edit.... Just searched youtube and found it. It's awful but in 1991 it sounded great ha ha

I swear my brother had a Mark & Lard cd of city songs - just remember them rhyming Franny Lee with division three and thinking it was div 2

Edit: not sure of the album, but that song was the ballad of franny lee

They did an album under the Shirehorses moniker. Wasnt a City album just that song was on it. They did a few piss take cover versions like South West Country Boy (to The Charlatans North Country Boy) sung in a oooh aarrrr Devon accent

The 1981 cup final song was called Come on you blues by a group called Sweet Charity whoever they were ! I remember the chorus went "come on, come on you blues "! Lyrics of the year or what ?! Didn't we do something in 74 for the league cup final or for that season ? Think the players may have sung it ! Again it was a classic " Manchester, Manchester, Manchester City ......" went the chorus !

It was, and it was recorded at Strawberry Studios in Stockport which was owned by Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman.
There was an exhibition on at Stockport museum about Strawberry Studios a couple of years ago and they had a section on the football songs. I think they did one for United as well so perhaps they cornered the market!

The song by Ultra they still play at games was recorded or at least release for the 1999 play-off final. New Boom I think.
