Songs that make you cry

Beeswing - Richard Thompson

"Maybe that's just the price you pay for the chains you refuse." Tears every time. Even when I've seen him do it live.

Also "Ol "55" by Tom Waits. And anything that ever came out of George Jones' voice box.

If this thread was called Songs That Make You Have A lump In Your Throat then verily would it be 100 pages long. But because it contains the word cry it only hits it to page 9. Obviously it should still only be on page 8 as being half Spartan I never cry, wishing only to assist Mr Hammers topic achieve a rightful status of double digits.

German rockers Die Toten Hosen with a track about the singer's relationship with his dad. Came out not long after my own dad died, and I burst into tears as soon as I heard it. Still make me well up when I hear it.

James - Moving On

This song came out around the time my Mrs Dad was losing his battle, we saw James live not long after he lost his fight and the song came on, we both bawled our eyes out.

I wont post the video but feel free to search it. 2 balls of Wool WILL make you cry.

Sad subject (It's about Tim Booth losing his Mother) but a beautiful song.

Love Hurts - Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris
Boulder to Birmingham - Emmylou Harris
Sweet Dreams - Patsy Cline
I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry - Hank Williams
Who Knows Where the Time Goes - Fairport Convention
Let It Be Me - The Everly Brothers

The Living Years by Mike + The Mechanics.
Reminds me of the challenging relationship I still have with my family. Gets me every single time.....

Both from when I lost my dad

Eva Cassidy - fields of gold (played at the funeral)

Cat Stevens - father and son

This was played at my father in laws funeral, he was a fabulous man.

Glory Glory Man Utd. Makes me cry with laughter
One of my eldest sisters passed away aged 46 from cancer. she had Cerebral palsy. was on a lot of meds and couldn't drink alcohol... she had 2 vices smoking and man u.

After she died my sisters had decided on some shite celine dion song at the funeral. I said my sis wouldn't even know that song, she liked man u and that is a song we should have.

After many arguments i decided on glory glory man u, and they agreed. Its not a song i get upset at, but as it was played at the funeral i thought you enjoy that sis.

Sometimes we have to put who we support to one side.
