Shakermaker was originally based on Flying by The Beatles (instrumental track on Magical Mystery Tour). You can actually sing Shakermaker over the top of Flying and it fits perfectly.

Was stuck in traffic yesterday and listening to “Morning Glory” when I suddenly realized it rips the riff from REM’s “The One I Love.” Then I found out everyone knows this already which is perhaps why no one’s mentioned it.
