I've been a teacher all my life. Still am, actually. Proud of it. We are not Nazis, whatever Roger Waters may have you believe (there may have been one or two in your school, I can't say). As much as the words, though, it's the dirge-like three-note melody that I truly detest.
By the way, I love “The Headmaster Ritual” and walk around the house singing it at the top of my voice when I put in on at full blast. And I owned Meddle and listened to it till the grooves were worn out. And saw them do virtually the whole of Dark Side of the Moon at both the Wembley Empire and the Rainbow. The problem is not there.
