Given our resources, how come we never test a team's resolve with huge bids for absolute top stars?

They may say no, or the player might not want to leave, then ok walk away, but if you don't ask you don't get. I'd love to see us slap £120m down for Messi, or £80m for Neymar or Bale.

We keep seeing the rags linked with these players and 'mega bids', why don't we start actually doing it? Media hate us anyway, it'd be funny to see us actually bidding for the players the tabloids and Sky are desperate for the rags to sign. And you never know, we might actually get one of them!
