South Cornwall

What does your dad say it's like in St Ives out of season when the tourists have all gone and the weather turns. Is it a ghost town?

His favourite time of year is the winter, when there are no holiday makers about and it's dead quiet. I've been down a few times out of season and its in stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of summer time. Bit too quiet for my liking though.

Me and the wife did the coastal walk from St.Ives to Zennor last year, took us about an hour and a half, we we're embarrassingly under prepared just thinking it would be a nice little stroll, in our shorts and t-shirts, it turned out to be almost rock climbing at certain points.
But it was all worth it when you arrive at the Tinners Arms. Lovely place and a proper Cornish Inn. Had to ring my dad to come and collect us though, know way were we walking all the way back to St.Ives.

Best way to do it is the coastal path route from St Ives to Zennor than, after lunch @ the Tinners, come back via the Coffin Trail (sometimes known as the Pilgrims Trail) which starts at the back of the Church and brings you all the way back into St Ives. It is a flatter, far less arduous route, but still a nice way to walk-off a few lunch-time beers!

this was Sennen Cove Today

And this was Portreath yesterday.

Couldn't have asked for more contrasting conditions. Did the SW coast path today towards lands end, saw a whale of some sort then a load of seals whilst sat at Minack Theatre. Awesome.
