South Stand - Villareal

Four of us usually in block 219 have moved to 114 today with no problem even though were on the cup scheme

i would disagree. at spurs away we were all spread about once the stewards decided not to let us stand at the top and that kind of helped and created a great atmosphere. we won 5-1 which helped of course but it worked that day

hopefully everyone moving to the SS knows what to expect.

114 and 113 are still virtually empty but 115 116 have sold a lot of seats since the start of the week
Just had a quick look and 116 only has about 7/8 seats left and the 117/8 are selling fairly good now, the away sections still have plenty but have sold around 60 in there today. Loads will go on Sat at the Villa game.

This thread could do with being made a sticky or a mass PM to all members to let as many people know as possible they can relocate at the office on Saturday before or after the Villa game.

I think im gonna move over there to see what its like. I'd prefer to be towards the back of the block rather that where I sit now (right at the front)

will be there. really looking forward to it. i am a firm believer that whereever the away fans are, the atmosphere will follow. i dont think the idea of whole stand together will work these days. but it should be good on tuesday and i am loving the champions league experience. WE ARE THE SOUTH STAND!

I think there will be a good atmosphere on Tuesday. The game which precedes the derby always has that intangible extra buzz. The problem with this idea is that it needs to be done on a more permanant basis.

For example, when we moved to COMS there was no such thing as a singing section or "we are the South Stand". Now, the stadium is gaining some character and identity, however it has taken time for this come to fruition.

This initiative needs to be a permanent fixture so it can build its own identity. 2/3 games a season will not create the improvement in atmosphere that we are after.

The club have fucked this up. It's ridiculously difficult to relocate. Your only option is to go to the box office and even then it hasn't been made clear to me that I can relocate for other people if needs be. Too much hassle. I'm stopping where I am or finding an empty seat in there on the night.

rubbish. i rang up with 8 customer numbers and within 5 minutes we have all been relocated

foley87 is one of the b.a. lads and well done for making the move

a few points

club said via the executive committee of the mcfcsc that all games in the champions league up until the quarters were gonna be £15 adults £5 kids. now it's £25. they could/should have stuck with £15 or if they wanted to charge £25, done a deal, 3 games for £60. a lot of our core support has been local working class families , 3 or 4 coming to the game. an extra £40/£50 overall means they have to pick and choose their games...

it's been the club's wish to try this out, the feedback they got was that fans wanted to have one end - especially in cup games, because it was always the southstand that had to relocate... think of forest at home, west ham at home, games where it's been like a home game for them

plus the fact that villareal are not bringing more than 200. FACT. that has been communicated to fletcher by villareal. this means we would have 200 aways and 2800 empty seats in an area with 3000 capacity. imagine if the club allowed that to happen, how would that help the atmosphere? people would say why didn't they release cheap tickets behind the goal, why didn't they try operation on end...

tickets will probably go in the extra blocks but it'll be last minute because that's the nature of our support, and also season ticket holders people on the cup scheme will stay where they are in the main

at a blue alliance meeting the idea of relocating was discussed, the problem was there were monsoon like conditions in manchester and it was a poor turnout, not enough for people to say let's move everyone en masse

whilst it might be the obvious thing to say lets put 50 lads in 115, if they are surounded by people who aren't used to singing the 50 will sing on their own and the atmosphere overall will be worse because those 50 should be in 117 and 118 getting it going. 117 and 118 need a push sometimes and that's why a lot of the fans there are staying in those blocks for this game. if 117 is loud and 111 is loud then the extra blocks should pick up on the noise which should make it loud

there are no away fans to buzz off for this game, but there was never going to be , so we have to do it ourselves

the wigan game was good for 15/20 minutes then it died. it was a shit game with a 2nd half goal. this is the champions league and we need to attack from the start, an early goal will see a much better atmosphere

what t.b.a have started doing now is mobbing up at the back of 116 117 118 and spreading out so that all those blocks sing the same songs, we sang not because everton fans were there or because we need away fans to motivate us, we sang because we like singing

not everyone has moved to 114 but if foley87 and his boys and a few orthers have , and we have the core still at the back of 117 then it should still be ok , 117 and 111 can always have a sing-off against each other anyway

Instead of talking about how it won't work and making people think it'll be shit, how about making people think it'll be amazing so they want to move there. Perhaps the reasons you just mentioned aren't making it shit, perhaps it is just people like you bringing them up.
