we just need to go back to basics in my opinionIt seems to me that Guardiola would rather play every other player into rhythm and pairing than two strikers, this season.
Maybe he's bothered by the Aguero and Jesus pairing from time to time in the past?
Who the F knows, but something needs to change.
Newcastle played well before the World Cup. Arsenal seem to be doing ok. United got their act together until we give them a good slap on Saturday. Spurs seem ok.its not an easy excuse its got its merits. mentally it will have affected performaces normally after disappointment they have a few weeks to get over it this time they dont. Look at how long it took certain players to get over the euros in 21/22 season we didnt have the greatest of performances at beginning of last season. Its also obvious teams who are performing better since restart newcastle ect havent had many players go to world cup
I see what you are saying, but it became very evident that both Grealish and Foden are far away from commanding a game. It's only the Carabao cup luckily. Lets hope that Pep learn's his lesson and understands the depth of our squad tails off very quickly.
The defence (and midfield) was a much bigger issue, and why lost.Grealish, Palmer, Foden and Phillips all starting together meant even with Alvarez we were looking to get lucky to get a goal from offense.

Most of our players didn’t play all the games at the World Cup. Most sat on their ass or played bit part roles. No excuse imo.

grealish haaland foden/marhez front line with bernie and kdb and rodri behind with actual fullbacks none of this inverted nonsence. if he needs to stop counter attacks sit bernie at side of rodri and give kev a free role.
pep needs to stop the experiments since weve come back from wold cup with had inverted full back in rico (whos been amazing) but that results in 3 at the back which i dont like, rodri centre back, kyle centre back, joao winger. Like just go simple 433 and get back to muscle memory instead of experimenting nonsence.
