Might be a back 3 of Walker, Phillips and Laporte, with both Gomez and Cancelo pushing into midfield. Then after the initial build up phase, Phillips goes up into midfield himself and Gomez goes on the overlap to free up Grealish. Sounds a bit mad but looking at the players he’s picked I think it could work.

Either that or it’s literally just a bog standard back 4 with both Cancelo and Gomez playing as traditional full backs, no inversions.

One of the problems of that stupid World Cup; players who didn’t go, went six weeks without playing a football match.

Haaland was in great rhythm before the WC, has looked like he’s not been in that rhythm since having such a long break in the middle of the season.

Rico just gives me the impression that even if he could get bulldozed, he would want to start.

The decision is up to Pep, but Rico would be buzzing and give his all if selected.

Not saying it would be the right thing to do, but I do think Lewis would do everyone proud if he did play.

He did on the first half, second half I thought he took his foot off the gas as he couldn’t have kept that up all game.
