Southampton (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Which is why we bought 4 players in January. Where the fuck are they ??

The two central defenders are just young lads and weren’t even needed. It was fullbacks we wanted.

Marmoush the only decent signing and gets 5 minutes.

Need to spend serious cash in summer, and not on average players like Gibbs-white.

That's not on Pep today. Not for me. The system worked perfectly, the lads just couldn't get it done.

He should maybe have put Marmoush on earlier, but otherwise the usually reliable old guard let him down.

Didn’t think the set up worked at all really, Haaland was a no show, Foden the same, we never looked like scoring. 72% possession which was having the ball for the sake of having it, the hit and hopes into the box because we’ve no idea what to do once we’ve passed it about for a bit. Shite from everyone involved.

Team worked perfectly just one of those games where we couldn't score. Calm down you fannys
Team worked perfectly?

Ramsdale could have got his sun lounger out and sipped on cocktails for the day. We drew 0-0 with one of the worst teams to ever play in the Premier League and most of the players weren't arsed.

Rico Lewis, Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland all lasted 90 minutes somehow...Pep fucked up with the line up and his substitutions.

But today was perfect. OK.

Very poor performance today. We went 187 minutes w/o scoring against that utter pile of pish.
Haaland returns and we revert to type.
McAtee should leave in the summer if we can find a sucker to pay enough, he's invisible & has no presence.
Marmoush comes on late on and did more in 15 minutes than the rest of them put together.
Foden looks spent, offered very little again.
Big chance today missed to cement our top 5 place and we have given hope to the likes of Forest and Villa again.

Southampton have conceded an average of 4 goals a game this season - we scored once in 2 games. Not fucking good enough and if the players had a conscience, they would donate their wages for both games to charity!
We struggled against them at the Etihad, was a very worrying performance back then
