Before "The Crisis!" (TM), we'd expect to win this game and most fans gave us a very good chance of beating the Dippers as well. Now, I'm as freaked out by the recent results as anyone, but our best players are coming back, we have the best manager in the world running the show, and we have essentially the same team that ran the boards last season. We've used up all our margin for error (at least), but if @TINY predicts a loss, @malg predicts a 1-1 draw and we all wear our lucky underpants/socks/shirts and switch the light on and off three times before leaving the room, etc., maybe we can still do this.

Last time I was in Manchester (couple of years ago) I bought a City polo shirt. First time I wore it before a game we got beat. Since then it is only ever worn AFTER a result. So it will be hanging in the wardrobe for this game.

Get over yourself. It takes as long as it takes - It took Sterling, Merlin, Zaba and Bernardo a season. Thank fuck we have pros in charge instead of impatient fans demanding instant results
Only a personal opinion but I don't thing Sterling has grasped it entirely.

He has been anonymous of late.

Just get the 3 points , Liverpool will beat the Gooners so we cant fall further behind.
3-1 City.
3-0 Dippers

I watched Southampton v West Ham the other night, Southampton were piss poor. We're not playing of late so I'll take any sort of a win, Would be nice to get back to winning ways before we face the dippers.

Can't see Arsenal getting anything out of today's game...I also thought Palace and Leicester wouldn't get anything off us so anything is possible.

Come on city.

It’ll be interesting to see how Guardiola approaches the game, both in terms of tactics and personnel. Will he just see the recent run as a temporary blip, and stick with the system that has served him so well at City, or will he look to shake things up in a bit in a bid to get us out of the current malaise?

It’s shit or bust in some regards, because if we were to lose the next two there is virtually no chance of getting back in the title race.

Think arsenal will get a draw there. We will beat Saints. Then we’ll beat Liverpool.

1-1 liv ars
0-3 saints us
2-1 us liv

Yeah baby.

Don’t think Arsenal have got a hope at Anfield with the amount of injuries they’ve got.

watching manchester city is like watching the weather forecast on tv you just never know so take your coats

i am giving up on pre match predictions and i have been getting carry away with last season team and results and winning the league and the 100 points and 106 goals and started to think we are bankers to win today, but this is manchester city we are talking about unlucky in good or bad times and no matter what season we are having a good kick in the bollocks always brings us back down to earth to reminders who we are

so am going for a away win hahahahahaha

But they will play a different type of game against us as all teams do.

I think we'll beat Southampton though.

Some of City's fans would do well to note Lawro's comments in his prediction column https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46693656

"As well as being without some key players, it would also help City if opposing teams would stop scoring wonder goals against them, and they have also conceded with the first shot they have faced in three of their past four league games."

This run of bad luck can not go on......yes I am aware there are other factors there too but you can not neglect luck, and it has been a factor. Sometimes its worth looking through the eyes of a neutral to see what's going on

If we are counting the wonder goals as bad luck I have to disagree slightly. They have all more or less come from some piss poor play on our part. So I would hazard a guess that if we stop that, the goals against us stop also.

I remember when that used to happen under Bravo, it was always his fault then.

Glad those same jackals aren’t blaming Eddy this time around.

In the past coup of games, it looked like we would concede every time a team attacked. If this isn’t sorted sharpish, we will be destroyed v Dippers.
Get a win here is a priority. We will see how the players react. If we lose, there’s very little chance of us catching Dippers, and can see us struggling to hold onto 3rd or 4th if we can’t turn this form around. We have the squad to get over this and challenge again, but it needs to start NOW.
