Stick or twist at Southampton?

There's no doubt that we have been very unlucky in recent games conceding to our opponents first attack, and goals change games, however the biggest problem for me is that then given 45 minutes we are unable to create more than 1-2 clear cut chances in a game.

If Jesus is fit, he starts in my side. So often, after injury, Aguero takes 3-4 games to get back to his best but if Jesus is not fit I would be tempted to play Sterling up front and play Mahrez or Bernardo Silva on the right.

I think we'll win this game. Key players are returning and getting games under their belt.

Ederson
Walker
Stones
Laporte
Danilo
De Bruyne
Bernardo Silva
David Silva
Sterling
Sane
Aguero

That’s a bloody good team (it always looks like a bloody good team, tbf, and still manages to lose to Palace and Leicester! still hurting...) but I’m not at all sure that Walker doesn’t need two clear matches to thoroughly recharge his batteries. Of course, that would then imply putting Danilo over there, and Zin on the left. Which is admittedly not great, as an option.

Just watched them against W.Ham.
As per their league position they look likely to be in another relegation scrap. They are weak and I'm hoping for and expecting a comfortable victory -around 3 goals.
We also have the advantage of an extra day's rest/ preparation.

Opportunity for some first team experience and who knows if they do well they may be trusted, Wan Bissaka for example has played almost every game this season. But in reality
this hypothetical player/ scenario is never going to happen , so there's nothing for us to worry about ha
Have we got a 21 year old left back in the EDS that no-one knows about then? Because that's how old Wan Bissaka is now although he did make his debut last season but purely due to a really bad injury pile up there.

I've been preparing an in-depth scouting report, having watched most of Southampton's match last night (apart from the 10 minutes just after half time when I nipped to Tesco for milk and missed the first two goals obviously), and can confirm that

1) They are dog-dirt
2) Shane Long will notch the winner - Alan Parry kindly confirmed, as he came on as a 62nd minute sub, that Shane is yet to score this season
Sooooo....... that’s Long with 35 yard worldly into the top corner in the 96th minute then :)

I think we need everything for this one lads (PC usage of lads to include all, however you identify) , so wash the lucky undercrackers (or not if that brings more luck). I will be wearing my lucky city T shirt under my city shirt (Even though it is brown? It worked for Aguerroooooo). Any lucky meals should be eaten prior to the game and any lucky pubs or bars visited. Please add any other things to the list. Whilst this might not guarantee us a win, I am hoping it will at least stop them scoring a forty yard screamer by a player that normally could not hit the target if stood on the goal line.

I agree with you Marv re Jesus but the conundrum pep has, he needs to get Aguero up to his best

The players chosen the other day were the correct ones, but something has changed about the way we play and i'm not sure if it's by design. I'm not tactics analyst but for my eyes it looks like the 2 things that have changed are:

1. Fullbacks both going forwards which means the defence cannot shift back into position in time, also the player who is in the pivot not understanding the role enough to cover the full back half spaces when required.

2. A lot more crosses coming in, which are eaten up by centre halves all day.

Danilo will need to move into left back, Walker back in and the return of the Dave and KDB partnership, i'd keep Gundo in the pivot but he needs to work on covering the spaces as well as controlling the game.
