What’s this training ground incident?

Well it was reported (could be all rubbish) but there was some altercation between Laporte and another player. The fact he picked Ake against WBA and left Laporte on the bench it does make you wonder.

Not really true in football though as the opposition is different every match. So what doesn't work in one game, might work in a different game.

Having said that, I'm not overly keen on double pivot with inverted wingers either.

I’ve gone from doom and gloom after the West Brom game, to being optimistic pep will go attacking against Southampton, to being completely underwhelmed with the starting 11.

hopefully I’m eating humble pie after the game I just don’t see how he can start Gundogan and Rodri together after midweek and don’t see where our goals are going to come from.

no striker, an out of form Sterling, an out of form Bernardo, defensive midfielders and Foden sat on the bench.
