So that's probably our longest away trip of the season maybe barring Swansea. Question is, where are these subsidised tickets?

Good point, although Southampton offer some of the cheaper tickets in the league anyway. I'd prefer it if the discounts came for our trips to the Tarquins and Rottenham Snotspurs

Some lad told me this was going to be the first half price one.

Hope fulham is then with it just before christmas

Didn't see this, I've just been ranting on Twitter about it.

The club are full of shit.

Manchester City Football Club and their full first team squad and coaching staff have teamed up to offer half price tickets to Seasoncard holders at selected games throughout the season.

The move is part of a Premier League-wide scheme to improve the overall experience for travelling supporters.

These games will be selected when a considerable travelling distance is involved and/or it falls in a series of games taking place in a short period of time

West Brom away midweek, Southampton away, Bayern Munich away.

Manchester to Southampton is 220 miles away,

If this doesn't qualify for what the club stated on the 9th October then I don't know what does.

Someone at City will be reading this - give us some explanation, instead of showering yourself in a bit of decent PR a month ago.

^^ Calm down!!

Arsenal - £31 instead of £62 would be nice
Spurs is on Wednesday night and means a day or half-day off work for a lot of fans.
Fulham or Swansea - either side of Xmas so not a lot of cash floating around
And then take your pick from Norwich or Palace, both long journeys and probably longer time wise than Southampton, whose tickets are not that expensive.

it wouldn't surprise me if city are waiting til next season to introduce these prices, with the excuse that they are using this year's attendances to gain market research of interest, which would then allow them to pick and choose which games so they still maximise ticket revenue. Or am I being too cynical?

Well
As City don't get the revenue for away games I suggest you are being overly cynical

hmm well I don't know what the reason is then, plenty of other clubs have been getting on with their initiatives all season

It would be nice if the club gave an update on these subsidised tickets. As Liam said, if Southampton doesn't qualify under the stated criteria ("games will be selected when a considerable travelling distance is involved and/or it falls in a series of games taking place in a short period of time"), then I don't know what does.
