Southampton Away - Ticket Info

It would be nice if the club gave an update on these subsidised tickets. As Liam said, if Southampton doesn't qualify under the stated criteria ("games will be selected when a considerable travelling distance is involved and/or it falls in a series of games taking place in a short period of time"), then I don't know what does.
You watch, it'll be Fulham (the day we go on holiday) and Spurs (can't get the time off work)!

It's pretty obvious that any subsidy would be aimed at higher priced tickets and with a view to selling out our allocation. Southampton allocation is low - 2500 - and the price of the ticket isn't too steep. Not sure City will factor in petrol, coach, time off work and trains (i.e. the overall package) when deciding on which to subsidise.

Arsenal and Spurs are obvious candidates, being about £55 a pop, less so Fulham (£51?) although we do get a full allocation that may be hard to shift given it's closeness to Christmas.

But again, it comes back to what the club said:

These games will be selected when a considerable travelling distance is involved and/or it falls in a series of games taking place in a short period of time

I know it's better if Arsenal is going to be £31 instead of £62, but that's not true to what the club have said.

From 4th December to 21st December we have West Brom, Southampton, Bayern, Leicester and Fulham all away. The furthest away of all the league games is Southampton. If neither Fulham or Southampton becomes subsidised then we'll be paying £40 + £52 = £92 , if Fulham becomes subsidised then we'll be paying £40 + £26 = £66 if it had been Southampton it would be have been £20 + £52 = £72. Sticking with the clubs original statement I believe the both should be, which would mean £46.

Currently, Arsenal away is sat between two home games and the away game that follows it is Liverpool, which is a pretty easy game to get to for the majority of our supporters.

They really should have told us from the off which games they were intending on taking the money off.

Liam has this spot on. I wish City just hadn't released the statement they did because it seemed clear to me that Southampton ticked all the boxes and was nailed on to be reduced, and made travel arrangements for a group of us accordingly.

December's 9 game fixture list is the most difficult financially for fans that I can remember. At best now we will have one reduction (Fulham). It makes you wonder just how much of a PR stunt the statement was because I for one would rather the money had been used on a smaller reduction for every away game, or free travel

I can't imagine this is going to cover many games. Remember the figure was £200K from the premier league, if the club discount Arsenal £31 x 3000 then £93K of it has gone already.

I know the players etc have put some in but even if they matched it you're looking at only 4 or 5 games before the money's gone.

So, maybe Fulham, Tottenham, Arsenal and Palace and you're almost spent up.

Swansea away New Years Day with a lunchtime KO should qualify surely, especially with it being on Sky?

I can't believe that fixture wont qualify, it'll be one of those "i was there" fixtures, hats off to all that make it.
