Great result ! Not for the travelling fans but if no one can see that pep thrown this game is mental ! We did not need a 2 legged affair against Man U or Newcastle games that pep would have to try and win! Be honest everyone this cup is least of our priorities! The other 3 are more important, so move on everyone

Ake was his usual high standard self and didn't drop to match the shitshow around him but only played 45 so it has to go to the only other player worthy of some credit which was laporte. He wasn't quite at the same level as Ake but wasn't far off and played the 90. Very good tackle at 0-0 to save us from a gomez fuck up and made some good blocks. He was trying to get things going on the ball but every single way he turned he was surrounded by a liability.

even in the second half our busiest player was ake,What this shows you is we are really not as good as pep thinks. Performances like this will win us nothing his attitude will have to change first he must field the players to win the game and after that he can carry out his experiments or trials or rest the players that are required for us to go on and win things

Just got back from the game. The referee was poor and allowed Grealish to be hacked down and showed no card early on. That set a tone that helped Saints. The fact we got no yellows all game in a cup tie when we are losing speaks volumes. If indeed Pep told the players don’t risk injuries then fair enough but then don’t play them and play the kids. Pellegrini played the kids in a 5th round FA Cup tie and at least there was some effort shown that day despite being thrashed. Think the players and/or club should refund the ticket costs. It was a no show.
