Southampton fans coming out today

We did, I was there too in the third tier. I remember it specifically because it was very unusual for us to take the third tier. We've never traditionally travelled well north of Brum but that seems to have changed in the last few years.

Weird we decided to move to a stadium with double the capacity if we ever hardly ever filled the old one. Even weirder that we then immediately doubled our average.

You don't have to 'believe' my comment on our average attendances, the information is all out there. We've never had a season at St Mary's where the average was half or less so the chances of it suddenly being so by Christmas is basically nil.

There's plenty of things to give us stick for about Saturday re some really scummy behaviour by some of our fans. There's no need to make things up.

Found both Newcastle in 76 and Wolves in 74 fine all had good day together, however got battered by cockney scrotes on the tube in 74. In 76 cockneys again seeking trouble but we're smacked senseless by geordies. Haven't heard of them seeking mither with Northern fans in recent times.

Both actually
We had just lost the Scottish Cup final to Rangers on the Saturday then beat Celtic at Tynecastle midweek before this game was announced.
10pm supporters bus on the Friday night as that was when the pubs closed back in the dark ages.
We left Southampton about 11pm for the trip back. Loads of fighting where our buses were parked before we left.
Some of the older guys at the back of the bus had persuaded some local "friendly" girls to come up the road with us!!
The looks on their faces as they were unceremoniously chucked off the coach at Waverley Station the next morning...

At FT they invaded the pitch and lots headed towards the 500 to 1000 Hearts fans looking for trouble.

Got talking to some Southampton lads in The Beech in Chorlton. One of the old fellas, must have been late fifties early sixties asks me, friendly like, what I think he enjoys most about living in Southampton. Apparently there's hardly any black folk, but he didn't phrase it that way.

I give him a lecture on how to behave but he and his friends couldn't believe I didn't find it funny. Genuinely one of the most confusing moments in my life.

So why not just drive there and back on the day? That's what I've done for over 20 visits to the new Wembley, and for most of my visits to old Wembley. - Unless you're from much further north than Manchester.
Or drive to somewhere on the Chiltern Line and then get a train to the stadium.
 
I lived in Southampton for five years (82/87), and most peoples views and opinions of them on here are correct
.One other observation I'll make is that they are perfectly balanced people!
They have "Chips on both shoulders!", I found them as a young 19yrs old to be negative,and broadly unwelcoming.
One of my first visits to a pub with this brother of a girl I'd shacked up with was to have a "Boiler!", not wanting to offended I agreed, a half pint of flat mild and a brown ale mixed, it wasn't for me but that's all they appeared to drink down there. I asked if they served beer with a "head" on the top? That was met with a look of discontent also.
Didn't like the place at all.

Planning to meet friends to have a few pints and I don't want to be limited to two drinks.

We've driven there and back loads of times but it's not as enjoyable and doesn't feel like we're making the most of it. Plus, the girls aren't great travellers so one long journey per day is enough.

The only person in fantasy island is you , i have no interest in looking up your stats , why would i ? No interest in your club , my initial post was a response to your vile fans , and decided to embroider the post too reel in a tosser like you.
 

Me and our kid , sadly no longer with us , ended up in the soton end after a police officer refused us entrance into the city end for being slightly tipsy. Absolutely no bother at all although one police officer came over and said don’t be causing any trouble. Walked out with them after the game and about 10 of us ended up in Arundel where our kid worked and thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the night .
 
Hopefully The Stains fans get Millwall in the play off final and win. Then we can show them lovely Manchester hospitality next season.

Park on my drive is our friend
Used same guy for almost every visit.

I've been a regular user of that site for Wembley over the years but parked on several different drives. Generally use the train if I'm on my own or just one passenger but there's at least three in the car for the final so it's a driveway again.
Park on the west side of the stadium and usually in and out from the M40/M25 via Rickmansworth and Pinner, though sometimes it's quicker to go west for a mile or two and just drop down onto the A40/M40. - Always Warwick Services on the way back.

Were that frequent visitors to Wembley.
We normally longer use the site but bank transfer our guy £20 each time we use his drive.
We use A40/M40 and stop at the services on the toll road (24hr McDonald's) on our return journey.
On the route to Wembley we stop whenever my 57 year old bladder allows me to.
