I think Guardiola sat down before this run of fixtures and looked at the two end games before the international break and decided that he wanted to optimise the group for the final two games Shakhtar and Man Utd. In the case of KDB that means accepting that KDB is at 90% and how do we get him to 100% for the big two games. It means putting in a maximal effort in the Fulham Cup game so he has time to recover fully and play in the CL game and Man Utd i.e. he'd play Fulham at his max. and not Southampton.Yep, I agree. Danilo played well last night and deserves another start. Walker been a bit off last couple of games so be good to give him a gentle kick up the backside that his place isn't certain. Would also like Leroy to start and let Mahrez sit this one out.

You could look at the Fulham game and wonder what the hell Guardiola was doing playing KDB for so long when we had Southampton in 3 days. How could a player who wasn't at 100% play both games and Shakhtar and Man Utd shortly thereafter? Well perhaps Guardiola has another plan, and it's not game by game. He is smarter than you think.
Certain players are in mind for Southampton.
I could be wrong but I bet there was a method in the apparent madness of leaving KDB on for so long.
Would’ve thought Walker will start ahead of Danilo. Other than that, we’re good to go. Should beat these comfortably, but last two two home games against them have been tough from what I can recall?
If Danilo keeps up last nights form Walker might have some real competition :)
