I don’t agree. We have Mahrez and Brahim to cover Sané and Sterling’s roles, but only Foden to cover the Silvas. Foden not being on the bench would make zero sense with KDB and Gundogan out. It was a straight fight between Mahrez and Brahim for a bench spot.

Yeah, I can see where you’re coming from, although Diaz can play in Silvas position.

Agreed Kaz; that's why I said "easier", which it clearly is in comparison to last monday and/or next sunday. Pep has said he wants Brahim to stay, but you can't blame the lad for looking elsewhere for regular first team football. It is obviously difficult for Pep to juggle getting results with the need to give the youngsters some game time. The odd cup game is not really much use to them, particularly Phil.
Phil seems to have his head screwed on and at boyhood club with pep, seems to be enjoying learning and being eased in,Diaz might have itchy feet but we can't drop our other players just to keep him here,no-one gets guaranteed minutes at his age or most of the others in a pep team,it's a romantic notion that we never lose a good talented kid,it just can't be helped sometimes

Brahim has shown what he can do. He just has to be patient at the moment. As soon as any two from Sterling, Sane, Mahrez, Bernardo, Aguero and Jesus are injured or suspended, he'll get his chance to feature in games that aren't just dead rubbers. Right now everybody he's competing with is not only fit but in decent form themselves.
