McAtee seemed to be taking his time to mature but he is getting there now. Has put in some decent cameos and starred for Eng U21 last week. Pep always rated him. No reason why he should not start this one.Good for all except maybe Bernie. He's been playing an awful lot of minutes, you know. And the way he plays is always full on.
Probably not Gundo on. He cannot play back to back matches now.(By the way, I thought Gundo looked pretty decent against Sparta the other night, although nobody else seems to be seeing or saying it). I'd blood McAtee as a starter in this one. He looks the business to me. Comfortable and useful on the ball. Very nimble feet. If it's not going well, if he's getting overrun, bring on Bernie, by all means. That's the way I see it, anyway.
That said, I'm pretty sure Pep will start Bernie.
According to Sky we've got two players for each position and spent a fortune on acquiring International class players. Dippers, Tarquins and Rags are always highlighted as being blighted by injuries but nothing about our paper thin squad being decimated, Gareth Ainsworth on Sky on Tuesday perpetuated the myth.We need Academy players to step up, or into the market in January.
Rodri, Bobb, Walker, de Bruyne, Doku and Grealish all out. Also Stones and Ake are prone to sudden injuries. Leaves us thin on the ground.
Is it fuckTricky fixture this one, on paper a banker 3 points but this is often the period of the season in which we wobble.
Hard work, concentration and patience essential today.
Gundogun now has a nice rest every month for the international break. He'll be playing.Good for all except maybe Bernie. He's been playing an awful lot of minutes, you know. And the way he plays is always full on.

I thought Gundog was showing glimpses of his former self on Wednesday night, hopefully just a matter of minutes in his legs to get him back fully fit.Good for all except maybe Bernie. He's been playing an awful lot of minutes, you know. And the way he plays is always full on.
