Southampton Mean Business

Southampton have been a victim of chronic mismanagement over the years. Rupert Lowe was a fool and Nicola Cortese is bad news too. If Pochettino does well then he won't finish the season there as he'll be poached. Southampton haven't got enough about them to sustain a challenge for a European place.

Isn't their owner filthy rich? obviously not Mansour rich but richer than say Kenwrong or Randy Badger?

No they've got some quality players.

Luke shaw interesting all the top clubs. Adam Lallana should be a regular in the England team, and Ricky Lambert is very under-rated.

Think they will be top 10 and could nick a UEFA Cup spot

They've got an excellent youth system though and that's got to be applauded.

Bale, Oxlade-Chamberalin and Walcott have moved on to better things plus they have the likes of Adam Lallana, James Ward-Prowse and Luke Shaw that have the potential to make it to the top.

IMO Luke Shaw would make an excellent signig for us. A young, quality English-trained player who could provide back up/competition for Clichy. Enable us to get rid of Kolarov.

It doesn't necessarily mean they'll blindly throw money at the Club. You don't get rich by giving all your money away and there's not the long term business plan that City have with the Academy and New York City.

Southampton are going to need to spend big to compete on a proper level. If you divide the Premiership in to 3 groups then the big boys of us, U****d, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool and maybe Everton are either ever present or have spent £££.

i like them as a club, they certainly know what they are doing and sacking adkins was a great decision for the new man they've got in, who i highly rate.

it's just these mouthy shandy drinking wankers that i nearly had a scrap with at the start of the season after the game, they were slagging manchester off and saying aguero was a girl for going off injured, also slating our spending, so i told them to fuck off back down south.

ever since then i've wanted them to lose but i suppose all clubs have dick heads.

Not much point in having a great Youth set up when all they do is sell. Barcelona have one of the best and they keep their talent.

-- Sat Jun 15, 2013 11:00 am --

Why would you highly rate Pochettino? His win percentage is 32 and he left Espanyol bottom of the table.

They were a lower division club, how could they expect to keep these players. If they push on as a club they can keep them.

It's very difficult for a team like southampton to break into the top of the Premier League, but Everton nearly did it and they can win Cups

Players do show loyalty when they want to. None of Bale, Oxlade-Chamberlain or Walcott immediately broke in to their new Clubs First XI and would've been better off playing regular football at that age.

I don't see why Southampton mean business with one signing.

because espanyol are shite,

the season before they were much better.

i rate AVB but he was poor at chelsea and I rate mancini but we were poor last year.

i just think he has a lot of potential.
