Southampton Post Match Thread

Btw this is how I feel right now about United fans in what I can only assume is their reaction to the game tonight.

UnfathomableSadness300.gif

though I'd take a look at a Southampton forum and they all have the fucking cheek to say they were robbed as it went a few seconds past 95 mins. I have no issue with parking the bus but to time waste from the first minute is pathetic.

Good organisation and defending well is one thing. Keeping the ball out of play for as long as possible and ruining something that after all should be entertainment is another. They should be ashamed.

In fairness, the time is "minimum of 5 minutes" I believe, so the only incorrect thing to do would be to play less than 5. That being said, god knows where 5 minutes came from. Actually, I know where it came from - Manchester City, media darlings, weren't winning, so they got some extra time to help them. Makes me sick.

Sterling is a little scumbag, hope he suffers a career ending injury asap. Add de Bruyne to the list, hideous pigface boy. And as for the commentators who can't help wnk over everything City do - they've had cheat mode enabled for about 10 years now, but that's not a problem is it? Who cares?! "Man City showed their class", no they didn't, cvntface, they showed how fcking jammy they are and how much help they get from everybody.

I wouldn't worry he probably has a rag duvet in the cupboard.

Christ... wishes a career ending injury on a human yet calls us out on class. Just another town full of rags.

The mentality of this team! Superb goal from Sterling, It went absolutely crazy behind the goal with Ederson going batshit mental with us. The amount of points Sterlings goals have won us this season is ridiculous. Overall, we were actually quite poor tonight, didn't move the ball quickly enough and without our double pronged attack with two pacey wide men and two creators we're a lot easier to contain when there's only one of them on the pitch. The guys coming in aren't doing enough at the minute, Gundogan tonight wasn't much more than a passenger. and very disappointing. At the back, Vinny looked unusually nervy and Walker looked off the pace too. I can't remember who it was but for their goal the cross should never have been allowed to come in, it was piss poor defending. we're going to get teams playing like this for a while now, we need to step it up.

Agree completely with this.

Walker, Gundogan, and Kompany were under par tonight.

Following all their timewasting, after Raheem's goal, somehow the ball ended up near Ederson.

While the scenes were ongoing, he promptly leathered it into SS L3. Thus adding a few seconds as opposed to their minutes of shithousery.

It was a big f*ck you to the time wasting of Southampton by the team, they retrieved the ball, got it down to him, and he was told to put it up in the stands, can't remember who by, but it was pretty funny.

Would love to see it back. Doubt there's footage.

We missed Sane. Jesus/Aguero weren't providing any width on the left which meant Gundogan had little space to work with. When Sane plays he stretches the opponents defence, like Sterling on the right. When only one plays we find it difficult to create space and chances through the middle. The alternative to Sane would be to have Delph overlap Jesus on the left, but he didn't do that. That is why Mendy is a big loss, it puts such an importance on Sane to play as much as possible.

Shoddy passing all night played at too slow a tempo.
I think we can safely say that Aguero on the left wing and Gundogan instead of Silva doesn't work.
Bernardo coming on did the trick - even though they scored just after he came on. Took away a marker from KDB so he could threaten more and he increased the passing tempo. Both Silvas together were very impressive at the end and Raheems wonder goal was marvellous as was the celebration.
I have to say how the he'll there was there only 7 minutes of stoppage time in tgat game (2 mins in the 1st half and 5 at the end of the game). It should have been 20 mins+ all together.
One's daughter says Bertramd' s cross for their goal went out of play. Can anyone confirm This?

Anyway the good news is we're SAFE from relegation!
