Southern Based Blues - Evening with David White - MK

Those 4 stunning goals at Villa park in 91, one of the best away games I’ve ever been to
That and the midweek match he scored a brace home to Liverpool, when we finally beat them, including the second which came down over the line, off the bar, and Saunders missed a late dubious penalty, always stick in my mind, was at both.

There was a tingle in the Maine Road air that night a David White once said it was his favourite Maine Road atmosphere

My all time fave City player.. Whitey running along past the Kippax at full speed.Never to be forgotten
And smashing the Scousers on that famous mid week match 2-1( White got 2)

Noise was deafing underneath the old Kippax roof.
What a night it was !

One of my heroes is Whitey, hope he’s doing well. I can still see him in my minds eye galloping down the inside left channel at Bradford to put the ball across for Trevor Morley’s famous goal - probably the only time he ever found a team mate with a left footed pass !!!

He served us well - a top blue and a top bloke
His 2nd most famous/ important run down the inside left channel was at old Trafford when he tore fatty Bruce a new arsehole and was brought down for the penalty which Captain Curle despatched with aplomp to spark the most incredible away celebrations at the swamp.
" you couldn't beat 10 men!!"

White was on FIRE that night. City decked out in White...packed the away terrace behind the goal ,and every away seat on the side sold out..City in full voice...we absolutely destroyed Villa on their own ground..Dr Venglos didn't see that coming ..we were absolutely brilliant ,one of my fav away matches ever.

Same here, that was a balmy summers night and a bit like the 5-1 demolition derby was the first time seeing us beat the dippers for me as a match going fan

Would love to go, but almost as quick and cheap to attend an event in Manchester as one in Newport Pagnell, from here on the south coast, when I lived in East Yorkshire, a long time ago, a colleague mentioned he was going to spend a couple of days in London, and thought he might go to Newquay for a day during his visit

Still a few tickets remaining for what promise to be a cracking evening in the company of former blue David White who will talking through his life and career.

With no City fixture next weekend it’s the perfect City fix and just five minutes off J14 on the M1 Milton Keynes.

Just on train to MK from England match and then a 3 hour wait on the station before train changes at Northampton and Stafford, get in Manchester at 08-30.
I was planning on attending your event but my lad is officiating tomorrow afternoon (was hoping for a postponement no such luck). All the best and have a top top evening.

I recall David telling me that was his favourite Maine Road match - Was a tingle in the air on The Kippax that night
There definately was a Tingle in the air on the Kippax that night.it was absolutely brilliant.id never seen City beat Liverpool.just loads of damaging defeats as a kid on the Tele, and in the newspapers...and then live..defeats.But That Tuesday night as we climbed the Kippax steps,
There was just a feeling, it was going go be our night..The noise was defeaning, proper noise ..City were gonna do the Scousers.
And we did!

Yeah, great night. Think there was a bigger picture also. We’d been done over big time by them previously. And for a short period at least we seemed on the up, and they were going the other way. Finished above them in the league which was unusual at that time… Shame it all fell apart
