Been out but recorded a couple of programmes on Southern Rock on BBC4 with another two to go, anyone into this then its all repeated in the early hours.

The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Charlie Daniels, Marshall Tucker Band and loads more great Southern Boogie style music. One of my favourite genre's of music, would love to spend some time in Alabama, Georgia and Nashville at some point in the future and search out some old record stores.

Boy can these guys play.

Or not

WOW just fucking WOW. So many great clips of Skynyrd and The Allmans but its the ones of Delaney and Bonnie and Dobie Gray that are really special. Gospel, Rock and Country all rolled into one genre, love the bell bottoms and long hair. Born in the wrong generation me wish I could go back to so much beautiful music.

Was out myself, so recorded it all too. Looking forward to seeing it. Love Southern Rock too......Skynyrd are kings to me. As are the Allmans.

Takes me back to Monday nights in the Phoenix with Big Steve (RIP) dj-ing....

The South will rise again.....

Was begining to wonder where you'd got too ;-)

Some great stuff on show last night and Skynyrd's Freebird on the Old Grey Whistle Test is really something to behold. Where the fuck have all the musicians gone today this is what music and live performances are all about. Was always a fan of what i'd heard from Delaney and Bonnie without really ever checking them out but last nights clip with Clapton and Dave Mason was stunning and I must have downloaded a ton of their stuff this morning. BLOWN AWAY is an understatement they've just got everything, soul, blues, jazz, rock, folk, everythings in there and it's no wonder everyone wanted to play with them.

I absolutely love Southern rock, Georgia Satellites being one of my favourites.
