The plane crash didn't even end Skynyrd.....the Freebird flies on and on and on.....

And for any fans of LS....check out York based tribute band, AYNT SKYNYRD....great nine piece act (incl 2 lady backing singers) that do the Skynyrd legend justice.....two of them even played on the Simple Man Cruise (which LS host every year)
They have been quiet of late, due to the sad illness and passing of their drummer Tivvy.....a man I felt priveliged to call a mate.....but like the real band, they are carrying on.....as Tivvy wanted them to do. Due at Railway, Bromley Cross, Bolton in the near future hopefully....or Rochdale Brickcroft...

Derek Trucks, saw this boy at a bar in Toronto when he was 14. Went on to play in the Allman brothers.

Steve Gaines and his sister Cassie, backing singer with the Honkettes, were at Knebworth '76. Sadly both killed in the air crash. Watch all 12mins of this, with one of the greatest guitar solo's of all time!!

Wow, great clip I really love that song. I was at Knebworth 79 to see Zeppelin.

That Knebworth freebird supporting the Stones is excellent, but the best one I've seen is the one used for parts of that bbc 4 doc last night. Pretty sure it was a 4 July gig from 1977 in a US stadium but not sure where.
It does appear on YouTube from time to time but I don't think it's up at the mo.
Allen Collins was some guitarist.

Zakk Wyldes first band 'Pride & Glory' did one album and it's one of the best Southern Rock albums out there, would recommend it to anyone. Just wish he would go back and do more of this type of music because he's got one great Country/Southern album bursting to get out.
