Stories like this are horrific and I hope they come out of it ok but When men and women beg to be sent to prison so they can get access to mental health and drug treatment on the inside then something is not right on the outside.

Then in the prisons it’s swimming with drugs etc so people dont actually get help they just come out with a much worse habit.

Something is failing society that’s for sure. What’s the answer? who knows but something has to change as otherwise, and as an earlier posted pointed out, we are on a very slippery slope.

It really is getting worse, I can only think this 17 year old has mental health issues to commit such a heinous crime.

Allegedly this lad comes from Banks, which is far from an inner city hellhole. More like Alderley Edge.

I think we should wait and see what facts emerge.

Last time I looked they were all just assuming he’s a Muslim. And I imagine it’ll stay that way until it can be confirmed he isn’t.
