Eight X15 pilots got astronaut wings.Didn't Concorde fly on the 'edge of space?....so everyone who flew on one whilst being served dinner and drinks could also be considered an astronaut.
What did Shepard, or even Glenn, “do”?Slight height variance's
Concord = 55-60k feet
Blue Origin 346k feet ( on this flight )
Alan Shepard 612k feet
FYI the Kármán line is considered the boundry of space at 330,000 feet so yep, technically they could be classed as astronaut's.
they were still not a "Crew" though, Crew suggests they did something. they were passengers nothing more.

It's not, is it though? The Blue Origin website calls them an 'astronaut crew,' so the media are clearly calling them that on the basis of Blue Origin's press release. And this isn't the first time people have taken the piss out of them for calling their passengers astronauts. The first time I remember was when Bezos himself went up.There is a lot of sexist shite aimed at these women, a lot of female journos going for them as well, how dare they have make up on and hair extensions, it is the media calling them astronouts not themselves , i wonder if people savaged shatner and other men going up to space for a joy ride

Fair play to them, you'd never get me up in one of those.
You need to see the view from my side : )It’s like looking into a huge love infinity pool
Seemed to go off with a bang, a big one.An unending thread this one
Russ Abbott once said that he was invited to a party on the moon, but decided not to go as there'd be no atmosphere.....Can’t see there’s any future in the Moon becoming the new 3rd world spot.
i was fortunate enough to fly onboard concorde several times in my youth.Didn't Concorde fly on the 'edge of space?....so everyone who flew on one whilst being served dinner and drinks could also be considered an astronaut.
