J.liew had it right in the Guardian. England are built on rampant individualism and have a savior complex. Every player is playing for themselves and historically, it’s always been that way.

Hence why it’s awful to watch.

Interesting story: his parents are Ghanian and they literally travelled across the Sahara to get to Melilla (Spanish enclave bordering Morocco), before finally migrating to Pamplona.
