Funny this thread reminds me of a presentation I saw a couple of years ago about Spam Super Consumers. A super consumer is a brand or products ideal customer , they buy 4+ times as much of a product as a normal buyer, they use a product for more purposes than a general buyer, they are incredibly loyal and they are not at all price sensitive. Most people are super consumers of a few things .
The spam super consumer had been well researched and there were a group of consumers in the US (I think) who shared recipes on forums and were buying 50+ cans per year. Most popular other than sandwiches, salads, were spam fried rice, spam and eggs, spam fritters, spam spaghetti, spam toastie, (used to have spam fritters at Didsbury primary school) and spams sales were going up because of these consumers.
I had a look at myself and I was a super consumer of clip seal bags, which i use most of the time for anything other than food storage.
