It sounds one year the heavenly music of the Champions League and again flying in the wind the stars of the best clubs in the world competition. This evening (18: 00, Eurosport, GolT, Teledeporte and autonomous) opens the curtain of the tournament for the top continental clubs with the draw for the group stage which match some other champions and contenders, novice, and favorite stars and surprises. A cocktail of good football and emotions that finally will have among its seeded Madrid, as it happens with Barça.

The irruption of the Mou in the semifinals of the last edition carries the award to look at the rest of clubs from the heights. The same applies to Porto, winner of the Europa League last year. However, this circumstance does not ensure a comfortable group. Much less this year. The presence of the Almighty Manchester City in the 3 hype threatens to poison a drawing which, at least for the Favorites, always looked with advantage. Only English clubs, by coincidence on the grounds of nationality, and those accompanying the citizens in the third box will avoid Agüero, Silva, Nasri and company. This means that both Barça and Madrid - for being the first urn - like Valencia and Villarreal - in the second - are able to see the faces with the new rich in Europe. Something can also happen with the German champions, Borussia Dortmund, although its potential has been diminished this summer after the sale of Sahin, its compass of the last successful campaign.

In addition to these, other considerable caution should be taken into account by Valencia and Villarreal, enshrined in the peloton of aspiring stalwart. That means that they will be measured to one of the members of the hype of the Favorites. Mata return to Mestalla with Chelsea, for example, would be one of the strengths of this possible pairing.

What is clear are the conditions of the draw, as usual. The eight groups are confi gurarán according to the Division of teams from each of the four different drums. There can be no teams from the same country or same urn in any group. The preparation of the calendar will be based on the television interests of each nation. In other words, the usual. So the only question is to know what clubs will oppose this time the Spaniards. Avoid the City would be an important first step. And it is that the way to the grand final of Munich is long and expensive, so it should start with softness.

The presence of the Almighty Manchester City - oh my Lord, someone needs to post that on Rag Cafe, any Arsenal forum and the Dippers - they will go fucking mental!

They'd probably go in to meltdown!

It reads like a Nigerian begging letter or one of Borat's scripts.

This year of sure, in league of champions, much niceness and cordially good play footballs for glorious city of manchesters much success!

Remain bless!

Amazing that the most important thing for Barcelona in today's draw is to avoid Manchester City. Never thought i'd see the day.

i read a lot of Spanish press and to be fair to them, they don't usually put us on a bad light unlike the British papers

i mean yeah, they mention about our wealth but they don't go all the way calling us "ruining football" or something

they're more objective like saying we're buying players, we pay huge amounts, have the financial power, but none of the "clash of egos", "group of individuals, not a team", "players are just in for the money" stuffs

and of course Silva plays for us so..
