Good news and bad news. It seems there will be a follow up to "This is Spinal Tap" with most of the original band. Cinema release in 2024.

Sadly, it seems that the drummer in the original film, Ric Parnell, has passed away but the Guardian did not provide details of the circumstances. However, we must assume that he choked on somebody's vomit or spontaneously combusted.

I may have mentioned this already on another thread, but I have a woman friend (now in her 50s) who put potential male mates into two camps: "love and can quote Spinal Tap", and "cannot quote Spinal Tap and/or does not love it."

She refused to date men in the second camp.

Probably needless to say, but I have a bit of a crush on her. However, I was already (happily) married when I met her :) and now she's getting (re)married to a bloke who can, you guessed it, quote nearly the entire film verbatim.

It's been more than 20 years since I last saw the original pretentious ponderous collection of religious rock psalms (yes I googled it), I'll have to search it out in the near future

That really is taking pickiness to 11.
