That’s a good point. The wind-ups will be all over the pitch. Hopefully we keep our heads and play them off the park.
Have watched Sporting about five times in the last month and really don't think we'll be playing them off the park. They are technically very good and can move the ball around at a fair lick.

Not a betting person, but would be surprised if Cancelo isn't looking up at a yellow card at some point. :-)

I was thinking about Cancelo when I wrote the reply!

I’m hoping that Sporting being a good side will bring the best out in us. Our really good performances this year have been against the better teams.

The last time we played them they were the biggest time wasting cheats I can ever remember.

I hope they have moved on from that.

I looked up their current 538 rating as its useful to get an idea of standard vs other PL teams.

Their rating, though not style, is closest to West Ham to give an idea of likely result.

I am slightly nervous about this. No idea why, just my bones. Would be happy to draw.

He does like a card.

I sometimes think Fernandinho in the middle can help defuse the situation when the others are chirping away in Portuguese, but given that he played at Norwich, it'll be Rodri in the middle.

Wolves and Southampton feel snubbed.
They shouldn’t it was a different league of time wasting as they successfully ran the clock down to go through.

As an example the ball could be in our half meanwhile their keeper would suddenly fall over with nobody near him. After several doctors had helped him to his feet 5 minutes later he would do it again.

If anyone went to the match at our place they might remember better than me just how unSporting Lisbon they were!

2012 it was and they went through on away goals 3-3 in the Europa.

Never seen anything like it before or since. The ref should have added about 20 minutes but came up with about 4 during which the ball was on play about 30 seconds.

Im still pissed off about it as you can see!

That was the game when Hart nearly scored at the death.

Better have your blood pressure tablets to hand...
