Sporting CP (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Embrace the adversity. Most of us have seen it, lived through it and come out the other side better for the experience.
There’s a lot of our fanbase who will never relate to that and have known only good times.
Believe me, it makes you appreciate things much better when things go pear shaped after success.
We are going through it at the moment, on and off the field. The next few months are going to be seismic and it’s probably a good time to rally round and show a bit of support for a group who have made all our dreams come true in the last few years.

In the context of the season none of these three losses will likely matter.
Carabao cup exit, nobody’s arsed. Bournemouth away - not great but first loss in PL after 10 games into the season, not bad.
Tonights loss - fairly meaningless and city will qualify for the next round.
Performances are poor but the squad is tired and ravaged by injuries. Fingers crossed get a good result at Brighton and reset after the international break with many key players back

I think most can except slumps - poor performances - it's when effort drops that Blues young and old get frustrated - and effort means concentration, positioning, making best of what you have - Blues understand that there is a wealth of difference between say Ged Keegan / Steve Lomax to Bernie but the effort levels HAVE to be the same when representing City. It's the perceived lack of care and effort that irks many (second half you could see that in some)
There is a certain way of losing, not going out with whimper

They aren't though are they.

Nunes, Savinho and maybe even Doku were not integral in winning 4 in a row

For me Doku is the best of the 3 but not consistent enough yet.

At present they are having to play far too much and we are weaker for it.

Already said that we need Jack and Kev back.

Doku and Sav are works in progress.

Nunes is more experienced and has shown that he has something to offer but Foden is a superior player and may need to go back on the wing. I like Bernie centrally but he obviously can play on the right wing.

And the rest of the team?
Foden and Nunes who were great first half also did next to fuck all the second half.
Bernardo the same.
The only one who looked a threat second half was Savinho and his end product was crap.
The teams creativity, pace, movement, pressing and even our passing has been shocking since the first international break.

As I've said in another response, Haaland was the worst of a generally very poor bunch.
