Sporting CP (A) - Post-Match Thread

Question: what's the highest you have ever watched City ?
Me: 50,000 feet above the Indian Ocean !! Sydney to Abu Dhabi and saw all the master class on Sport 24 TV.
First time I'd got wifi in the sky on an Aussie flight. Sydney to Brisbane early flight (so late back in Manchester) ... 36000 ft as a certain someone said "Don't shoot Vinnie / don't shoot". I jumped out of my seat much to the bemusement of the early morning commuters and travellers.

You were in a Gulfstream 6? And even then only just! 40k may be-at a push.

About ten years ago or more, 757's used to get above 41000 routinely as the weight decreased. That plane is rarely in service nowadays, and the rest barely get above 35000. They are even lower to save fuel. Gotta stop the drought and the wild fires.

I assume it’s been mentioned, but it helps in the league too as we have the derby just before the second leg, so now we don’t have to conserve any energy and can go full tilt against the scum knowing that we can coast the game against Lisbon.

Anything less than 10 against this shite rag side and I’m hiring a plane to say Pep Out.

It seemed both teams decided to have a training session in the second half, but the tempo of the first half was as manic as that of Guardiola's first two seasons at City. Control is the operative word nowadays. Wonder whether Guardiola would persist with this tempo for the rest of the season. Pushing the pace too much against Kane and Son may not be the best thing to do.

Was a great performance in third gear, I was a bit worried that Sporting would come at us early with their crowd behind them but that was squashed quickly.

A great feeling to basically have a two legged tie over at half time of the away leg.

Great performance by everyone.

After the first few minutes I thought they might give us a game.Once we settled down and the goal went in,it was cruise control.
I thought Bernie was MOTM,phenomenal goal aside,he was a man on a mission.Stones also looked great, and Sterling had his best game in a very long time,he was well up for it and he looked like he was enjoying his football again.

I was impressed,whining like a woman aside,with Porro too.

Great result and lovely to see the academy starlets involved.
