Really looking forward to seeing how Simpson-Pusey gets on. He looked really promising against Spurs, but this is a big vote of confidence putting him up against Gyokeres. Worrying that either Ake or Akanji not fit enough to play though, with Stones and Dias already out.
Hopefully it's just a precaution with Saturday in mind.

F@@king hope so.

I think this is a positive if we still have niggling injuries in defence. Could turn out to be the find of the season for us if it all works out.

He will handle this from the little I have seen of him. Reads the game well, likes to break through the lines and gets his head up for a decent pass. Just hope Pep hasn’t told him to pass backwards or side passes too much. Let Simpson-Pusey play his game the way he has been, being brave.

Not sure how closely you watched the defenders on Saturday mate, but neither of Akanji or Ake were anywhere near 100% fit, they couldn’t even sprint. It’s correct decision imo, I assume he’s playing whichever one is the fittest alongside the young lad.

The Boys in Blue never give in they fight to the end. Come on City, Come on City. Show ‘em lads, show ‘em all. Especially the team from Sporting CP who are trying to beat us tonight to show Trafford that they have appointed the correct new manager. Ha, ha, ha. Ha, ha, ha. Ha, ha, ha. Ha, ha, ha. Ha, ha, ha. Ha, ha, ha.

Especially the know nowt media types who worship the wrong teams. But we don’t care we will fight ever onwards and upwards. The media coxcombs probably won’t watch anyway they will be eating and drinking and accepting hospitality instead.

Especially the Specsavers needing, whistle blowing types who officiate at the matches. I don’t know about these continental ones but they will probably be as bad as ours anyway. They are probably a load of rapscallion poltroons anyway to join the shiitake mushrooms we have in this country. :-)

Just beat them lads. That’s all, just beat them and show them we are Manchester City the best team in the land and all the world. :-) ;-)

I am not entitled I expected us to go backwards at some stage. Unfortunately injuries have speeded the process up so far this season. I just think we will be lucky to get a drawn on current form.
I'd take a draw, similar on Saturday then hopefully after the break we have players coming back, it's been a proper tough start.

I know I’m likely going to be disappointed, but pretty please with a cherry on top don’t let me see Kova/Gundo/Bernie in the middle.

I said this on the match thread at the weekend and also said Walker was clearly unfit and Gvardiol was borderline. It’s very concerning that we might not have a single fully fit back four player. Hopefully those that are still able to play can hold it together until we get everyone back. I think we (the fans) may have to get used to the idea that we might lose a few games before we are back to full strength.
