Sports personality of the year

Without fail, someone will always bring up the "but he's got no personality" argument at this time of year whilst failing to appreciate what "personality" actually means in this context. Just shorten it to the first six letters if it helps.

Murray had to win it; he's had a spectacular year.

I think he's so called 'lack of personality' makes him more likeable. Honestly, there is nothing fake about him. He is who he is. Doesn't go by false media training and scripted answers. All he wants to do is get on with Tennis and reach the very top. Which he has. If every British person in sport had he's drive, determination and attitude we'd be winning everything. He's personality is summed up in his attributes - I wouldn't want him to change into some likeable comedian - why the f*ck should he. What do I care ? I watch Murray to see a machine dominate one of, if not the hardest individual sport physically and mentally, even better his British.
Arise, Sir Andy Murray.

Very true, fabulous tennis player and refreshingly bullshit free, he is who he is no pretence.

'Personality' is the last thing yer need to win 'Sports Personality of the Year'. It's typical BBC fudging to ensure that their preferred candidate gets the gong. It might have been just personality in the early days, but when some of 'em turned out to be surly inarticulate bastards the watchword became 'achievement'. And then Giggs comes along and I'm just wondering if Jamie Murray has been away!

It's hard on Olympians who only get the spotlight once every 4 years but Murray has been exceptional again.

Britain's greatest ever sportsman and possibly the hardest working.

For those that think Andy Murray has no personality, watch his appearances on Mock the Week as a guest on youtube, his post Davies Cup match interview with Dom Inglot (Hilarious) and his interview with Sue Barker where he talks about Dunblane. The guy is just a genuine human being that has worked immensely hard to achieve more than most in their lives. Absolute legend and deserves every accolade that he is nominated for.
