Must say I thought Mo deserved top 3, but its based on whats been achieved in 2016. Even so Andy has won two Gold medals in tennis, no other player has, not even Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic has none.

Well, quite: Farah's won two Olympic golds in 2016, his 3rd and fourth in total. And to be a bit pedantic, both Williams sisters have won 4 Olympic gold medals in tennis. I agree Murray is the best tennis player we've had post-war by a country mile, and arguably one of the finest sportsmen we have ever had. But there were plenty of other equally worthy candidates this year in my view.
