Elise Christie - Short Track Speed Skating; SirMo Farah - Athletics, Chris Froome - Cycling,Lewis Hamilton - F1, Anthony Joshua - Boxing, Harry Kane - Football

Johanna Konta - Tennis, Jonnie Peacock - Para-athletics, Adam Peaty - Swimming,Jonathan Rea - Motorcycling, Anya Shrubsole - Cricket, Bianca Walkden - Taekwondo

My question is this..... does anyone give a fuck any more?

Tedious in the extreme. Won’t watch again. Unless we get team of the year for our quadruple.

I think Foden has been nominated for the Young SPOTY. Haven't checked who he's up against though.

EDIT:

Found them:

Kare Adenegan (Para-athletics), Rhian Brewster (football), Ellie Downie(gymnastics), Sophie Ecclestone (cricket), Phil Foden (football).

Ieuan James (canoeing), Millie Knight (Para-skiing), Marcus Smith (rugby union), Jess Stretton (Para-archery) and Ben Woodburn (football).

He'll be up against Ryan Giggs, so the lad's little chance.

Not sure on the other athletes, think i've heard the gymnasts name from the Olympics.

But other than that looks like he may have a chance, saying that, he's up against 2 Scousers (Brewster, Woodburn) and we know what the Scouse media are like.

It's not a public vote for this award. Downie is probably the best known, as she's been competing for several years and is a current European champion.
They might end up with a statement award, so this is impossible to predict.

I simply cant understand the hostility and disdain for this esteemed and traditional sporting occasion. After all its presented by Gary Lineker on the BBC whats not to like?

Anthony Joshua is my bet for winning it, though I am clinging on to the hope that Amir Khan or Dennis Wise will win I'm a celebrity and secure a late nomination in order to give the British public an alternative to Harry Kane.

Surely Phil Jones must warrant a place ahead of Harry Kane following his incredible bravery in having six injections to enable him to beat the pain barrier and lead his countries defence in Englands recent make or break internationals.....nothing short of heroic and a shameful oversight by auntie.

Always used to love it as a kid and it was like a signal that Xmas was nearly here. Now I don’t even watch it, seemed to lose its appeal when they went to the big arena. If I was to vote it would be Mo Farrah, been an incredible athlete for GB and deserves it for me.

Woodburn's inclusion is a joke. What, for scoring a goal against Austria?
