Dont know if its allready been postedbut Spuds will have played 3 games before we hammer pompy

Liverpool v Spuds 20th Jan
Spuds v Fulham 26th Jan
Birmingham v Spuds 30th Jan

City v Pompy 31st Jan

thats 3 tough games...fulham at home looks easiest...could possibly lose all 3 .... heres hoping !!

And why should we beat Pompey? We played poorly at Fratton Park and our minds could be on the cup... Spurs are capable of winning all 3 games I'm afraid. They were unlucky yesterday, that Hull keeper was in inspired form. Spurs are slightly ahead of us at the min, but I'm hoping our defence get's back soon and we start momentum again. It's going to be VERY VERY close. We should know at the end of Feb how good we are when we play scousers and Chelsea in a week.

for me lpool win.....no torres for 6 weeks means lack of firepower,goals.....

only gerrard left and hes out for 2 weeks plus

spurs have plenty of potential goalscorers

spurs have terrible record at anfield though ...if my memory is right !!

So what is the best result for us when they play Liverpool this week ?

Definitely draw.

Looking at the fixtures long term I think Liverpool are our biggest rivals for 4th. They have a very easy run in at the end of the season when they'll probably have all their top players back.

Can see Spurs picking up 5 points (1-3-1), which would do us no harm.
However, we need to concentrate on our own games - put Everton behind us and try and go on a bit of a run.
This season is going to go all the way, for the title, top4, Uefa and relegation, as nobody has any real consistency.

I like the fact that we're going to be playing catch up with our challengers. It means we'll probably be behind them in the league, but with games in hand that could take us above them. Therefore we won't be sat in 4th with the media bigging us up, creating title-talk like they did last week but we'll still be in a great position to take 4th. Best of both worlds.

Only downside is that if our challengers are winning games and we're playing catch up then there is more pressure but I think we should be able to cope with that. We're going to have to learn to cope with the pressure if we want to succeed over the next few years.
